Fuldraw you can try Heritage Laker Tipups and Indian Hill Traps. I think the Kittery Trading Post sells the Heritage Laker parts. Sorry I do not know website addresses for either company. I think you will find it is not cheap to build your own traps especially when you have to buy the different parts. If you have not already done so use search feature and search the Tipup community board.

Buying parts will cost more than buying complete traps. It's like fixing your car or truck would cost a fortune if you tried to buy them a piece at a time at auto parts store.
If fishing is a sport are we considered athletes?

Is the term trap a east coast thing? I never heard anyone else call them that, we call them tip up's.

For sure, Buying parts will cost a lot more than tip ups, But if that's what you want, so be it, Fish USA has them, a lot of Laker parts.

indeed it is. I always knew them as tip ups, but after spending time with a bunch of guys on the ice I notices I now call them "traps" too  ::)

I just Googled diy tip up kits, and found a few places to buy parts, and some pictured plans.
