my worst purchase this year was a lindy darter. That thing catches fisherman, not fish.

27" HT Medium Lite graphite rod.  The sensitive tip was no match for -17c weather and a perch.  I shortened it and put a new tip eye on... now it's a 24" HT Medium graphite rod.  Magic !! 

Bring on the perch and -17c next season.  :-)
