First, you need to buy a trencher.Second, you need a trailer big enough for the trencher, ATV or SnowmobileThirdyou need to figuire out how to attach the transducer to the ATV or Snowmobile so it will stay in the trench you have cut in the ice. I think once you have that stuff figuired out, you need to get out the lake map and find the area the Walleyes will be moving through for that time of year. If you have a good trencher, you can cut lines back and forth and not just straight. Be careful about dragging you line along the edge of your cut, it may be jagged and cut your line. Make sure you have your auger handy in case you do hook up. You will need to fight the fish, get the auger started, be careful not to cut your line on jagged edges, drill a hole, be careful getting the line into the hole, and bring the fish up and through; this could be tough if it's a big fish and you don't have a 10" auger. This whole process would be easier if there were 2 of you on this expedition. Make sure you get a good measurement so that when you make your trenches they are equidistant from the ATV or Sowmobile. You don't want to have an argument over having to reach or driving over someones trench. Anyway, maybe some others could chip on this with some more suggestions.
