What sized treble hooks do you use?

I use #12 and #14 trebles and have a very good hook-up rate.

One barb goes through the back, right behind the dorsal fin. The other two stick out on one side. Works well. ;D

wat do you mean by stinger hooks? like a single then a stinger down the side of the bait. i generally fish medium shiners which are no bigger then 3.25 inches so idk how that would work out.

I use #8 trebles for walleye and #4 for northerns. Works fine for me.

Trebles are all I use on tip-ups. One hook through the shiners back

I use them regularly for perch but change the trebles to fit the size biting.  Since you don't get a hook set with a tip up I found the trebles get a higher percentage of hook-ups.  The standard for me is to use a #8 or #10 for perch.

i don"t use trebles because i seldom keep what i catch unless i am gonna eat em, for the most part i use a # 4 single hook.

Mike is right about trebles not being the ideal catch and release set-up.  That is why I lean towards the #8's as the smaller throwbacks cant get the hooks in their mouths.  Me being a perch eater anything that fits a #8 treble in its mouth is going home with me!   ;D
