Minibike on Ice
« on: Jan 23, 2024, 06:41 PM »

Wanted to share a picture of my ride on the ice tonight. I bought this in the last few weeks with ice fishing in mind. I put beefier tires on it and about 100 hex screws per tire for traction. So far it's done surprisingly well for me in the 3 times I've had it out.

Could have used something tonight as I face planted in a muddy up hill trail, pulling my shanty...lol. Had to wash my bibs for ?? the first time I think. Mud everywhere.

Great looking ride... I always considered doing that with a bicycle and some type of way to put studs in the tires.

I saw an Amish guy on a bike at potatoe creek on year. No studs, just an old bike. Asked him how many times he had crashed. Said it was his first attempt.  He was riding on glare ice no problem.  Not me. I guarantee I'd crash.

Foxinfish you need some kind of hitch on that rig. Would hate to see the rope wrap around the tire or chain.

Maybe the Government could install EV charging stations. We would have to register Bikes then and pay a use tax.

Probably have to register it, but bring it fully charged - should be good to go.

Just got a fat tire Ebike for the ice and then the weather turned warm.  Got the Heybike Ranger S, only a few that have been UL approved.  Some are banned in certain states due to fires starting with the battery.  Might have to wait for next year to try it on the ice, but should work for hunting as well.  Grand kids will surely have fun once I tell them they can try it.
