walleyes in warsaw area
« on: Dec 15, 2010, 07:03 PM »
Hey guys I would like to know if anyone could tell me the best walleye lake in that area to ice fish.
I do know of pike lake and winona lake.
I have never fished these lakes before so any help would be great.
Thanks

That's about it for walleye in this area, unless you want to fish the river.  Pike has plenty of access, most guys fish straight out from the beach.  I always try to make a trip or two there every year.

Do you mind catching 319 perch of the 4" variety for every one walleye? If not than Winonas for you. Both are goo but I harbour bad feelings for Winona.

I'll venture to say that neither are "good" (at least in my book), but they both have walleyes. I do hope to visit Winona this winter to get me some fish skins for lure making. lol I can do with out the white bass harass at Pike though.
Photobucket can suck it

Winona is the better fishing lake overall, nice gills, crappie, bass, pike, and eyes.  Pike is a much easier place to get access so I go there, plenty of walleye in both.  I don't mind the white bass, but I could see where they would be a pain if you want walleye.  A lot of guys pull out kitty kats jigging for eyes as well.

I caught a couple 2 or 3 walleye out of winona last year all 14" - 16". All came from humps on south end of lake. Tried pike lake with no success. Maxi is much better caught some nice ones there. Last year was my first tryin for eyes so you should be able to get some. Lake maps help a lot.
