whats the best way to attract northerns in a tournament situation  ???

 For Pike in a tournament I would stick to dead baits with a oily constantution such as smelt or herring. I would use a quickstrike rig or on a jig. Just keep the movements slow or dead stick it. Good luck with the tournament.    :)

Just put out tipups with shiners and suckers along a weedbed, you'll get them...
