Plenty out here in the NW corner of the State (e.g., Savoy, Plainfield).

Any idea if the wind blew a lot of the snow off of the ice?  I know down in the southwest we got hammered with snow, about 20 inches.  I'm curious if I should be packing light this weekend bc of a brutal sled pull or if I can load up with the grill and all of the goodies.

What a crazy year for MA. Who would have thought we'd be having safe ice again. I am checking a couple spots around my area that looked promising before the snow. Here's hoping ;D ;D

parts of NY got 40+ inches along route 90 (I drove through it on Tuesday in the worst part of the storm, SNOWPOCALYPTIC is the only way to describe it!

All I know for sure re the ice in the NW corner of the State is that there was 16 inches or so on Bog Pond in Savoy on 03/05/17 and there was 12 inches of ice on K of C Pond on the Plainfield/Hawley line on 03/12/17.

Obviously, that was before the big snowstorm on 03/14/17, where I would guesstimate (although it's hard to do due to "drifting") that we received about 16 inches of snow .

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you whether the wind may have blown off a lot of that snow from the Ponds I am thinking of.

I hopefully will get a chance to do some fishing myself this weekend and could tell you then, but by then, alas, it will be too late to do you any good.

Since I had nothing better to do, I just checked the "mountaintop"trout pond. A lot of the snow has blown off  so there was 6 inches of snow covering 2 inches of soupy slush on top. The ice itself was  8 inches of crap white ice on top with 2-3 inches of black under it. I honestly was surprised how little ice was left. I would say that there are a few high elevation ponds that will be accessible this weekend in the Berkshires  but please use caution. As for skaters on Onota, I would not be surprised but I have never seen one with a chisel yet. Good luck.
Being on ice is nice but the tug is the drug.

That's a very generic question, so how about very generic answer, like "Yes".
