Making a trip in a couple of weeks to Portage for some pike tippy fishing. Any tips, recommendations, caveats before we head up? Got a guy to take us out and in and a place to stay off the ice overnight. Probably cook for ourselves and are very self sufficient. Just looking for guys that have any experience up there.
Years ago we camped on Madeline Island (WI) and saw some pike off Superior in the lagoon that would knock your eye teeth out. Hoping for an experience similar to that or even Sturgeon Bay off Door County in WI.
