"Hunchbacked" Alaskan northern pike caught on 7 Feb 04 by Barleydog. Fish is 19.7 Lbs. and 38" long. Caught on 6 lb. test and a piece of shrimp, (accidental catch while trout fishing.)

Sorry guys! I hadn't seen the 2004 sticker law, (it's ok if I am dinked for it, It's still a pleasure to post it.) My sharemation account has been down, so I had to post ASAP on Hunt101.

Am I missing something? Isn't the tourney card displayed in the last pic on the bottom of the fish? What is the difference between this post and Trevor's? I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. My understanding is take a pic of the fish agaist the tape with tourney card as well as one with myself holding the fish.

In the original entry (top 2 photos) there was no card and you couldn't read the rule (tape measure).

The first post was missing the 2004 tourney sticker for which I had overlooked! Scott O.K.'ed me to repost, (thanks Scott) BUT I'm only doing this to put pressure on you other pike hunters!

BD - I'll just be happy to be able to get out fishing. We've got serious snow/slush problems on the lakes up here right now. $:-\$

I still don't know how you can live with yourself after entering an accidental catch like that!

Me niether! Can't figure out "why" a fish that size would want to touch a piece of stinky freezer burnt shrimp flesh.

I see that the east is on a see-saw weather pattern. How much ice do you have?

I'm not in the east I'm in the center... Manitoba, Canada. Lots of ice (~30") but problem is the 30" of snow ontop of it! Even snowmobiles are getting bogged down in the slush in places.

It seriously sucks!!

barleydog tipup and myself along with everyone else, has the same problem..lots of ice but tons of snow on top. the last few weekends have been tough to say the least. this weekend hope to get away from the shack and target the monster. wed & thurs were complete whiteouts coming to work. i can just imagine what the lake looks like. might have to dig the shack out
