My dad caught over 80 gills in about 2 1/2 hours on homemade jigs. Fish fry!

hey teebug,  can you explain a little how you made them.  i can see that you wrapped the lead wire around the shank, but how did you keep it in one spot, Solder it? i would think it would slide around on the shank.  those do look awsome though.  also what size hook are you using? would like to try to make a few of those. i tried to pm but it wouldnt let me

Well im using baitholder hooks size 10. The barbs on the hook seem to help hold the solder on. Also when you paint them and it hardens it also helps to keep them secure. I notice when i wrap it, i do it fairly tight so there isnt much slippage.

Nice catch,it's a great feeling catching fish on your own lures.I've been making quite a few of my own including teardrops and tying some small hairjigs.
