I’d love to have a couple for that price, but, like you, I have two LX-7s and an external antenna for my phone that’s WAAS accurate, so the RT-9 is redundant.  Plus I’m saving for the next generation of Garmin Livescope which won’t be chump change.  Save your cash.  Bigger and better things coming.  My 2 cents.

I would recommend the seven. The RT9 is not the best for portability. The 7 is a great primary unit.

Imho, the RT-9s are glitchy and were built on a super-cheapo Android tablet platform.  (Ruggedized, they called it.  ). Not impressed.  The LX-7s and LX-9s have a better, longer track record and are proven durable and reliable.  I personally would spring for another LX-7 or LX-9 before I’d buy an RT-9, especially when it’s a foregone conclusion that they’re being phased out.  Again, my 2 cents.
