It can be a tough place to fish during mid ice, but it definitely is not fished out.

Shallow weeds with a drop off, sand basin, adjacent to spawning grounds and deep water. That place is way too good of a habitat to be fished out.

I'd give it a little bit more. That far towards the channel is tricky.

I always thought it would be good through the ice after bringing the boat up during softwater. Just an awful long way to go when im this new to ice fishing. Maybe by the end of season it might be worth it.

Was out at Misery yesterday around noon checking out the ice. It is not ready yet. Walked out about 20' and stopped with the spud at ~4" of ice. Worked our way out another 50' or so before the spud went through first hit, less than 2" of ice.

I'll be going out again tomorrow to check it out and hopefully find somewhere to fish.

Hopefully the ice will be food for Tuesday!  A friend of mine and I r going up to give it a try. We live about 65 miles south of Erie.  I would hate to go all the way up and not be able to fish! We were going to stop on the way up and check a few more places. If anyone has info on any lakes that r fish able it would be greatly appreciated.  I fished misery probably 20 times last year. It will by far spoil any ice fishermen lots of fish there.

Fished Misery Saturday and Sunday - 5 to 6 inches in majority of spots.  What was more concerning was the lack of weeds.  Punched a bunch of holes on Saturday and just could not find any to set up on or near... fish seem to be roaming around.  Lots of shad down there also.  We caught only small perch on Saturday and I got a nice 5 or 6 lb brown trout.  Caught some gills and perch on Sunday with a few crappie also.

Fished Saturday. Found 4-5" of good ice. Didn't venture out towards the monument so I can't say what the ice looks like out there. Managed to find some weeds by the end of the day, but not much. Slow day with one small perch and a handful of crappie.
Didn't fish out there Sunday but heard there was plenty of people and good ice.

Fished Misery on Saturday and Sunday.  Put a smackdown on the crappie - all respectable size.  The trick was using a small presentation, and watch the rod tip, because the bite is super light.  When the fish are being finicky, forget live bait and go to plastics and a horizontal jig.  Lots and lots of shad.  I didn't look for perch, but I will find go find those sometime this week.

Extremely light.  I didn't feel a thing; I had to watch my vex and my rod tip.

Right now they're calling for a high of 39 and sunny on Saturday, 36 with rain/snow on Sunday. With the temps this week the ice will be good for this weekend. I'm planning on going out Saturday.
