on the highway 13 post last week - that person reported that he fished au train right after christmas & only the bays were available with about 5" of ice and a bunch of slush on top (If I'm remembering right).  Curious if anyone's been out more recently as well.

was there last week.  Starting to get a lot of snow on top with the slush making for a not fun pull if you're walking or trying to hop around on foot ... I found ice anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of hard black ice with anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of white ice on top of that ... so call it 5 to 9 in total plus snow & slush where i was at.  The south end where the river dumps in is open as is the river on the outflow.  The fishing itself was SLOW ... with undersized pike and dink perch ruling the day.
