what do you catch at moraine ?

do you ever do any good other than gills or bass on tip-ups? I never caught much other than dink gills jiggin  hit the back bay at muddy creek finger gills gills and more gills.

from the same hometown mote. I am up here in unoin twp. Fished moraine few times and all is dink gills. I know i get big gills in the spring but where the hide under the ice? Where are the perch and crappies. I know better than to try for an eye there. Not my fav lake. Pyme is just so hot. Mabe my buddy got me spoiled, started 2 yrs ago when we had tons of ice just after christmas. ave 25 plus keeper slabs and tons of slob perch and big bull gills

I like getting down to Nealy's Point...nice bay, parking, and structure. Walleye seem to be hottest near ice-out, other than that it's bass and muskie on the tip ups.

I usual jig up some bass, crappies, and gills. But.nothing but bass  and channel cats on tip-ups so far

stanley k k  R.I.P. caught one jiggin one the bigeest ever caught in moraine,ann of the A team got one on the north shore i never got one in 30 years fishin arthur as for the other species caught musky, pike, bass both big and small faced,crappie both white and black,perch,bluegills,sunfish,bull heads,channel cat. no walleyes or stripers

fishing arthur on the ice over the years i mainly target crappie. I have though caught alot of bass on tipups with a few pike thrown in . one pike in particular its head  would not fit through to hole i had drilled . For pike i use the largest sucker or shinner you can purchase. Dead smelt also work sometimes. The best bass days Ive had came on large fatheads not shinners . there are some nice perch also once you sort through the dinks. blue gills on the other hand are about 60 dinks for 5 nice ones.

I've heard the stripers don't bite with the low water temp and you never got one in 30 years, so it must be true.

a guy i used to fish with pulled a world record striper through the ice about 15 yrs ago out of lake arthur.not positive on this but about 32in 19lb 29in girth.did not want to fit through 8in hole.but thats the only one i can remember seeing.
