Roll call for guys that solely fish the Mississippi River

How many people on here pretty much only fish on the Mississippi River? I live about 45 minutes away from the river and it's about the only place I fish. Doesn't seem like many people on here talk about it very much. Just wanted to see how many on here fish it.

13 14 & 15 waiting 4 river 2 settle would like 2 fish cattail

Going tomorrow. From what I've heard it's safe just about everywhere. Doesn't cattail have current in it?

only when river is high I think I will call Todds baitshop  in Thompson and see if anyone has been out on cattail yet

there are some deep holes in cattail good wintering holes lots of bass good size crappies and gills

I fished it this summer there was definitely current in there can't remember what the river level was at the time. It's definitely deep that's for sure.

If the river is going up or down there is more current cattail creek empties into it fished it for panfish for the first time this year in november got bored fishing the stripmines here at home just got laid off Im ready 2 fish now

Just looked at river levels its still going down good luck to u 2 going to Todds in the AM they usualy have some reports

I fish mainly 12,13 and 14. 12 has been all over the place lately up and down like crazy. 13 has been fairly stable going down slightly, and 14 has been very stable which is good. Dropping river level fish usually don't bite very good. We were goin to go to rock creek but decided on sabula, hopefully the wind doesn't blow us off the ice.

I open water fish 9,10,13,14 a lot and 11,12 sometimes. I ice fish 13 and 14. Has anyone checked the opening to spring lake yet?

Good idea to wear a life jacket in cattail. Right now I do not think there is a water flow though it. You have to worry about springs though out the cut. There is not very many people that ice fish it. If they do it has to be very cold for a long time. I think there are so many other places to go on both side of the river. Give it some time and people will start writing reports. Ill site is also slow. You can got some talk in the Ia side. Good luck and be safe!!!! Fish with other ice fisherman.

welllll thanx 4 that info fellas I have fished cattail for years (softwater) I never thought of ice fishing it untell this year scrap that one
