Depth for first ice walleyes

 I was just wondering what depth everyone fishes for walleye in the early season!

I dont know if there is a specific depth to look in, I target bottom transitions, rocks, the edges of weed beds etc

First ice walleye tend to hold in their fall locations. Fish points, mid-lake humps etc..If the lake your fishing has no structure, fish weed lines and bottoms of steep drop-offs. Walleye usually stick to the bottom, but you do find fish 3,4,5 feet off bottom, depending on were baitfish are present.

I usually like rocky reefs, points, or drop offs in 12 - 25 feet of water, even during twighlight periods. If you don't have suspending baitfish in the lake, generally fish right off the bottom.

If you've got weeds, work the weedlines...especially a weedline combined with a point...now yer talkin' ;D
