Backing on tip up
« on: Sep 02, 2013, 01:52 PM »
Do you guys put backing on your tip ups. I am using Tip up line from fish307. Does this line grip the spool well enough to do without backing or does it slip.

I fill my spools with the same line....    Always put some sort of tape on after you tie your knot...  Electrical tape and duct tape works well...   Than wind your desired amount of line on.....  just my opinion....

I never used the line you're talking about but I always use braided dacron on all my tip-ups then put on a barrel swivel and my leader.  I always measure out my leaders and keep them all the same length so I have an idea about how deep I'm setting them.
