Bait clip on polar tip ups
« on: Jan 30, 2013, 11:25 AM »
How do i use the bait clip on the polar tip ups? I like to put small perch on my Quick strike rigs but they like to trip my flags. ive looked at it and cant seem to figure out how to use it in  a way that wouldnt result in a big tangle.

Usually you can clip the. To the Nase of the tip up and they will hang down halfway to your reel.  Them you can hook it to your line.

I use the wooden tip ups. I screwed in a eye loop to the bottom of the tip up. Then I take a yellow planner board release and and tie it to the eye loop with tip up line. Leave about 4 inches of line in the middle. When I put the big sucker down, I clip the release on the line . If the sucker trips the flag, just take a bigger bite on the line with the clip. It should work on plastic tip ups too.
