Artic Warrior.

I thought an Artic Warrior would be fun to use but I have questions about using it. Do you leave the bail open or closed? I tried leaving it open and the minnow peeled line off and went into the weeds. I tried leaving closed and drag as loose as I could and the fish would set it off but drop it when it felt the resistance. Is there a way to put the line so the minnow won't pull line off? The only thing I can think off is using small baits or dead baits on the bottom. I was using it to try catch northern.

Rusty,

I'm Kinda New to the artic warrior also. I had the same problem. Open Bail, small bait for walleye worked well. When I put larger bait on it kept triping. What I tried was a paperclip, on the line at the rod tip. I only tried it once, got a flag, fish wraped a stump :(  I think it works so far, our pike have been aggressive. and when it hit it poped the clip off. like I said I only tried it once so far, so it's just a suggestion I'm not sure if it will allways work  ???
