What's happening this winter, any action or problems accessing the lake?

Yes definitely a hit and miss lake and not going to catch to many monsters in there but certainly can be a fun catch and release lake!!

nets all the f over.  you all remember that happened to these lakes when they started to peak some 10 y ago?????   boom nets out and almost killed them off. start calling tips line and your local term office or there will not be fish for your kids to catch

Was out today and once again not really disappointed between 2 of us 7 walleye 18pike largest being 32”with 3 or 4 being in that range( largest I’ve seen for a few years) walleye only 3 eaters let all fish go to swim another day!! Road out was ok as long as you had 4x4

Everyone wants to tell their buddies they caught limits is why the fishing is bad and it’s getting worse. Last year on some weekends we were up there I’ll bet there was 200 ppl fishing. There’s 400-600 fish gone and that’s within everyone’s limits. Some keep more and some keep less. Personally I don’t see the point of keeping everything that comes up onto the ice. Keep some nice eaters and send the rest back to replenish the population and grow bigger.

Exactly.  Not hard for word to get out on the internet that a lake is hot, then it’s flooded with anglers.  Especially in the winter.
Get outside.  It does a body and mind good!

i bet you could walk out easy enough   or drive around to 3rd bay and hike on there  I've drive out lots in early dec but this might be a bit early   the fishing hasn't been as good in last few years so hoping it improves this year

Can you access the back road again? Last year when I tried it was covered with trees and I mean more than a day and a chainsaw.
