suspended fish

 how do others hook suspended perch ,like at 30 feet in 60 feet of water i use a magic marker to mark my line at the depth they are holding at better than a knot for sure

nail polish works also, but its more of a pain than a marker

My Marcum works better yet at that depth cause I can zoom in on them really good ;)

I agree with the MarCum thing. But I use a bobber stop knot from a slip bobber to mark depth in deeper water so I can get back to it right away, even with the MarCum, I want to maintain basic skills so I'm not hopeless without a flasher.
The fishing is always great, the catching however, always isn't

When i set my line for the bottom i use the little line holder on the side of the spool it is for holding the line when the spool is not on the reel . If you are fishing for anything that might pull drag this would not be the way to go but for pan fish it works great.

Use Zebco Slab Seeker reels, has 2 depth sets on the spool. Think BPS carries them under the Bill Dance Crappie Series now. Things work great and is easy.
