« on: Mar 30, 2012, 10:09 AM »
Almost all the perch i have caught lately have had little round BB sized deposits in the flesh that are very hard and white/clear in color.... anyone have any idea what this might be?

It the same parasite that causes the black spots on the skin and fins of the fish.

I know in the area I fish you run into them with a white grub or round worm that grows in the muscle tissue. Some times it is so bad that you can see the worms coming out of the tail fin. State GF&P Officials say that they are safe to eat though.
Keep your stick on the ice we are all in this together.
