CT guys fishing for NY Lake Trout
« on: Feb 28, 2021, 07:01 AM »
Have you actually read any of his posts? He is far better equipped and advanced than all of us "cavemen" on here. Very condescending person. That is why he gets all the hate.

Born again ice fishing.  What kills me is before Mike and crew met him there was no system....they had to help him learn how to use that finder.  Thst plus the writing style I think did the trick.  Personally I don't care either way but it probably helps that I'm neck deep in trophy lakers.

Please post some pictures of your trophy Lakers.

Just a few without backgrounds showing. My daughter's first laker yesterday on a jacker:

System used.  Lead jighead, plastic paddle, braid, some jigging action, livescope, jackers and suckers.

While your lakers are “ok” Jon, your daughter’s fish (and smile) are my favorite here. Nice job as always Dad!

Nice job, what was the biggest, weight or length?

Not sure didn't measure/weigh.  I'd guess 35" 15lb for the largest.  Weight is conservative.  That lakers head was massive!

What happened to the OP? He wrote the longest post ever and then never came back to even respond to comments.

Some say he's still typing to this day. These posts are like bragging about having the worlds best system for picking up cigarette butts off the ground.

Beautiful fish Jon!

Hey thanks man.  Had to abandon the stopping grounds of cookie cutter laker land and spread my wings but it worked.

Atta boy. Work and weather had me at cookie-cutter central the three times I got out there with nothing photo-worthy but the scenery.  Sunday might be my last chance for a nice one, probably head further north than usual.

I rented a house for the end of March to fish off exit 26 (if you catch my drift) there will be ice and the bite is usually good.

Your drift has been caught, hopefully some fat lakers will be too!

You know how that works there.  Probably cookie cutters with a shot at one or two over 30".

I've been to exit 26. I didn't catch any as nice as the ones Jon did. One more place to get back to, need to ditch the entire work thing once and for all.

Aha, that's why I didn't get big ones. Or I'm a lousy lake trout angler.

Nice lake trout Jon,love seeing those big lakers, was suppose to be heading to Moosehead  lake Sunday but due  to a work injury heading into surgery Tuesday to have my hamstring fixed,  I'm so depressed  missing this trip this year, made it to George  2 years ago in late March marked alot of fish and had alot of chasers but just couldn't stick one. Wanted to get back this year again but it's  not happening, hopefully next year.

Thank you.  I'd like to get up there but the drive doesn't interest me much.

Yes sir!  We have a clip of her breaking off on one even larger probably north of 15lbs.  It's classic.

I was cheering her on watching that vid.
