OldSailor:
Steve, I think we can all agree that when a bunch of people denigrate our flag, country, and values, we need to be able to express our opinions on here!! I spent 21 years defending our right to do so!! No offence meant!! :flex:

fish/hunt4ever:
That is what I like about this group of folks, we might disagree or agree on something and rant about it for a bit and then everyone just moves on and we respect everyone's comments on here and do not bash on each other.

Rain here right now and we have had some horrible winds the last couple of days, Mother's day weekend looks to have some nice weather so hoping to be able to take the wife out and catch some fish and have a good weekend with her.  Have a good one everyone been a busy but slow week at work everyone.

mr.clean:
Good evening, like others rain this morning which gave way to a sunny warm day with a high at 4 this afternoon of 85 degrees with a 10-15 mph wind at times. I attended the Cornwall boy's varsity lacrosse game with Kingston high school this afternoon game started as i expected with Kingston up 4 goals to zero for Cornwall at halftime. third and fourth quarters saw sloppy play by both teams and exchange of goals  Cornwall never had the lead did close game to a 3 goal difference final score was 9 goals to 6 in favor of Kingston.

IFF glad you were able to-do some fishing with your daughter and had protection from the rain on hand. May today's storms not have caused major damage in your county. Best wished for your daughter's return trip to Wisconsin.
ice Wanderer thank you for the compliment try to choose my words carefully not looking for an argument with anyone here on ice Shanty. May your area see a few dry days so you can get the dock stained. I hope things went well for you at today's therapy session.
Hunts2long if the suspected Gout continues get to a doctor for treatment so can have less/no pain and get treatment that helps keep your mobile. Some impressive gas mileage per gallon with the CRV. Glad the accident had been cleared by the time you arrived at the GWB. Nice that the diner in Englewood is now in second generation of family ownership and the quality of food and service is still good.
Wallyworld think you picked the right day for the bike ride would have been hot on your bike today.
OldSailor  I thank you. Ice Wanderer and Hunts2long for your respective years of military service and realize your first period of service may have come because of the draft in place during the Vietnam war. Sadly as the war went on opinion on the U.S. being involved changed for a segment of the public and soldiers came home to receive less then respectful treatment for their service in many cases. Those events and others helped to form the opinions you have today.
Fish/hunt4ever I think being her on Ice Shanty is an escape for other aspects of all of our respective lives and most of us have better things to do they get into Intrnet arguments.
Eddie Hope you can get the computer problems fixed and we see more frequent posts from you.

A safe and good Thursday wished for everyone. Best to all fishing.

ICE WANDERER:

               Good morning ER's,
It's 42* and partly cloudy here on my hill. ::)
Bud............That's the beauty of being retired, being able to fish during the week when the rest are working.
H2l.............That's great mileage, and with the price of gas rising you should save quite a bit.
Wally...........I started counting down at 4 years. It started as a joke, our division was closed down and we were transferred to another
division in Manchester New Hampshire. Our first day the division manager asked me how I liked being there, my answer was "I'll tell you in 4 years"
someone yelled out "How many days is that" That night I went back to my room and figured it out. At the next meeting I was asked the question again.
And i spewed out the number of days. :roflmao:
Steve.......... My decision to go in the Navy was, having going to military school, NYMA. I knew what the army was aboutand i rather take my  chances
on a ship. No matter what service one was in there was always a chance of being sent to Viet Nam.
Fish.............I hope you have perfect weather this weekend.
Yesterday's therapy session was pretty easy, my therapist didn't want top push it to hard the first day back. I'm cleared for 25 more sessions.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

                 IW

hunts2long:
49* and a few clouds.

WW, yes the CRV is a hybrid.

IW, I was in the Sea Scouts when in HS, so the Navy was 1st choice. I got out in January of '65 just as things were heating up. Talk of being extended was already being talked about. I knew a couple guys that were on the ship that was captured in the Gulf of Tonkin!

Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l
