You guys will have no problems launching out of long point with machines. There is three main spots to do it. By the marina, by the bathhouse,and 3/4 out the point to the north. All three spots are fairly flat and have plenty of ice. Parking isn’t an issue either. Plenty of room for trucks with trailers.
Thanks gamehog, just wasn’t sure if DEC or park police would say anything about machines out of there. Thanks for the info

I was out yesterday without my machine. I haven't taken mine on the ice yet this year. There was a solid 7 inches off longpoint. I'm planning Saturday morning taking the wheeler. The drag off the ice last night absolutely sucked. The snow was like sand. I'm hopefully done dragging by hand now the ice is good. Good luck and be safe everyone.

Have been seeing machines quite regularly. Ice was 10” measured north of Long Point on Tuesday night.

Last weekend i fished vikings and MM. Thinnest ice was 7inches of great ice. Thivkest was probably 10.. I wouldnt think twice about using a machine if i was going back.

Fished Dewittville this am. Slowwwww......... Managed one bite, 16 1/2". May try Pendregast tomorrow am.

Fished L.P. today and got one short eye and 1 perch. Moved to Prendergast and no luck. 10+ inches of good ice.

Fished south side of long point yesterday 38fow. We had planned to move after the morning but we were on fish all day. Ended up with 17 keeper perch threw prolly 20-25 dunk perch back. I’m ne short eye and my buddy caught a beautiful 30” gar. Ice was 8”. Took the wheeler out. Beautiful day Snowmobiles on the lake all day long along with a bunch of side by sides.

So I fished off the tip of long point yesterday in about 15 fow. Was just jigging up perch while watching them on my aqua-vu micro. All of the perch suddenly darted out of my field of view and a hurry. I thought to myself that something big was coming so I started doing bigger jigging patterns with my 1/8 oz lindy slick jig tipped with a 2 inch plastic shad. All of a sudden something big tags it hard off camera and makes a mad dash peeling the drag out. It made about a 30 second run before it bit through my 8lb fluoro leader. Never did see it, what do think it could have been? Fairly new to the lake and still learning.

Is shore ready for machines yet ? It’s sure nice to make moves quick when catching the eyes, the walleye bit this year is very unbelievable, it’s almost as good as the big pond lol, be safe tight lines boys

In terms of waltman - hows the ice?

Been cleaning up on decent perch in the “hole” per say. Nothing like early season, but enough to help top off my freezer.
Eye bite is slowing down this week. Only managed about 2-3 keepers per trip this week. Weeks prior was chaos. Threw back some nice breeders but I know they won’t last with the circus showing up on the lake recently.

Tight lines and tight hamstrings.
