PETROLIA RES(WALLEYE, PIKE, PERCH) & YELLOWATER RES(BIG TROUT) JUST NORTH OF ROUNDUP.  THEY'RE ABOUT A 1.5 HR DRIVE FROM BILLINGS, BUT USUALLY WORTH IT.  YOU MAY ALSO TRY ANITA RES BY HUNTLEY.  NOT SURE WHAT ALL'S IN THERE, BUT I BELIEVE PIKE, PERCH, BLUEGILL, CATFISH.  SMALL BUT A FRIEND FISHES IT AND SAYS IT'S USUALLY GOOD FOR SOME NICE FISH.  GOOD FISHIN' - OH

Haven't been up to Yellowater yet this year but talked to a old guy who said he caught a mess of trout and one 5 pounder last week.

We ate a 14" rainbow out of there last week and it tasted great!  It was smoked though so the slow cooking may have made any weird tastes less noticable

I took the boys out for a while yesterday and we caught 9 with 1 of them being about 13". The ice was soft for the first couple of inches but was good the rest of the way. There's about 10-12" of ice.

Hey, CMAK, funny you should mention that. We're going tonight after work. I'm going to test out some new jigs.

Yep, that was me, my dogs, my pal and his daughter. We iced zero, but I did have one bite large enough to nearly pull the ugly stick out of my hand and down the hole. I suspect the fish are over near the thin ice/open water where the aerators are. I suggested to my pal that he send his kid over there to find out, but neither one of us wanted to risk losing a rod, so that didn't happen.  ;)
