Anyone like the p-line for ice line ?
« on: Dec 05, 2015, 03:09 PM »
Saw the p-line floroice line today and was thinking on may trying it either in 2 or 3 lb test for bluegills ? Any one use this line ? Or should I stay with Berkley 100% fluorocarbon?

I use p-line flourice on all my ice reels. I've had great luck with it. I prefer the 3lb over the 2. IMO the 3lb Just seems so much stronger than the 2. I use 4lb on my deadstick rod and I have landed some pretty big fish on both test strengths including some pretty big northerns.

Tried p-line 4lbs liked it fine. Nothing crazy...no freezing some memory. Where as micro ice has no memory but can freeze. I have some with one and some with the other

Flouroice is sweet, and priced well for what it's worth so long as youre good at scouting online prices and what not. I think my spool was 100 yards for $4-$5 off amazon as an add on item.

The 2# I used was kind of unreliable and unpredictable.  Broke on several potato chips and broke on my little jig, just jigging.

The 3# has been very good.

What most surprises me is the longevity of this line.

I use the 4#, 6#, and 10# on my setups. I love it's knot strength and it doesn't seem to get brittle after a couple months like some other lines.

I use the regular P-line on my ice fishing set-ups and have never had an issue with it freezing... I emailed P-line about it when they first came out with the ice line and they even said there was no real difference between the ice line and non-ice line

Agreed!!! P-line is all I use. I looked at some gamma line at the st.paul show but for 17.95 per 100 yard spool I passed

I use the 2 and 3 lb. awesome line. I started using the eagle claw inline reels 2 years back and love the setup.  Little memory if any on the inline, overall its tough line for ice

a friend of mine uses the P Line cx premium for his 2lb set up. I believe its a co polymer.  I have watched him get lakers on it not huge ones but 16-18 inches. Lots of pan fish too. I set up an ultralight rod using the same line and I can say it is very smooth with no memory. Very good line from what I have seen.

Good line and priced for the average person.  Long life and good consistency in strength.  Behaves well enough for both spinning and baitcasting reels.

I've been wanting to try some out for ice fishing. I love their 6 and 8lb line for river fishing for salmon and stealhead, the stuff is almost unbreakable.
