ATV Tire Chain Suggestions

I am looking for any recommendations you have for better traction on a Honda rancher. I've seen several styles out there, wasn't sure what worked best for you? Thanks Nut

And make sure it's a 2 link, not 4.  Look it up and see the difference.

Old thread but I searched craigslist for automobile chains then shorten them to a custom fit.  Cheap and effective! ;)

Any advantage to a diamond pattern chain or just go with the two link bar type? Both would have the v's on the links.

Fleet Farm carries ATV chains with the Vbars. Any tire chain is better than none. ;)

Thanks Jon,another spot to check. Just wondering if anyone had thoughts on if the diamond pattern would provide any better traction? One place I was looking, the price was just a couple dollars more for the diamond pattern that the 2 link bar and both styles would have the v-bars. Any less chain slap  with the diamond pattern? Either one a smoother ride on bare ground?

Diamond pattern gives a smoother ride.

Stud diamond pattern has about the most traction.

You get what you pay for. Buddy bought a set, moose racing I believe, off Dennis kirk. They broke in a day. Going on 4 seasons with my tirechains.com sets.

I got some $38 car chains at walmart, got the correct cross chains the right size out of the box so all I had to  do was cut to length with a pair of bolt cutters.  Mount on, bunji cord tight and off you go.  You will wonder how you ever went on the ice with out them.
Thread killer
