I had one few years ago but I broke it (my fault, stepped on it). They are great rods for the price imo. This comin from a guy who uses st croix rods.

I have a Gander tournament series and while the rod was decent, the reel was junk. It seemed ok at first, but after a few fish the drag took a dump and was basically junk after that. I would buy another of thier rods, but they can keep the reel. ;D

Their rods are actually very nice for the money - I have a couple I've retrofit the St. Croix springs onto and they are a nice rig.  I also have two Gander Tournament reels I've had good luck with, although I've read alot of guys saying they are junk - hopefully I'm lucky??

Really like their rods, but not their reels. Not the best quality, in fact, just returned one after I pulled it apart and saw the stamped pressed on gearing. I have many Guide Series soft water rods and have never had a problem with them.

I have been using gander mountain roads and reels for about 7 years now. They had there guide series on sale for 50% off. Picked up three new ones. On my older reels the chrome is pealing off. For the price you really can't beat it.

I like my 24" UL.  Real soft.  Almost as nice as my high dollar rods.

I have many "good rods" but last year my "go to" rod was a 27" M/L Gander Mntn guide series rod mounted with a St. Croix spring tip. I love that rod! got another last year......just in case ;)
