Good evening start of a period with more seasonal temperatures and rain fall in coming days .
Ice Wanderer good of you to help new neighbor and pass on some of your knowledge of tree feeling and chainsaws. i hope therapy went well for you today any changes in exercises since your doctor visit.
Hunts2long thank you for the update on the Northville girl's basketball team. best to you and your teammates next Sunday against the current first place team in your bowling league.
Wallyworld may any road testing of your car show the oil leak has been fixed. there is an adjustment going from windows 7 to windows 11 I had to adjust when i got a new computer in December of 2023.
OldSailor not surprising to see return to more seasonal weather after the recent warm spell many of us experienced. hopefully if you started your garden you can cover things to prevent damage from colder temperatures. Frost and snow.
Eddie if you still have corned beef left maybe use it for making Rueben sandwiches or a modified version of a Rueben with the boiled cabbage instead of sauerkraut. it does not take long after temperatures rise for insects to get active.

Have a  good night stay safe and healthy.

I was on 14" to 15" of good ice on Saturday.

Where? Prove your point because that is bad advice and most of that ice is rotten from bottom up and top down.  Somewhere in the middle is barely 4"-5" of solid black ice.  With warm spring temps Lakes lose 1" of ice per day.  What you call "Good Ice" is most certainly not!

From what I can see you caught the last good opportunity to get out and get it done.  The soft water season is almost upon us, so we have that to look forward to. Having a trusted buddy doesn't hurt and pulling your stuff isn't as bad as it sounds.  After the last several seasons my decision to stick to foot travel doesn't seem as stupid as some people though.
Wow, your not kidding, would not want to be standing on last ice of the season even 1 week later!

Glad it worked out for you guys Mark. If you want to post photos, the easiest way might be off your phone. Log into IceShanty, click on your post to modify (or add your photos in a followup reply). The little blue button below the text box allows you to attach photos directly from your phone photo gallery.

I'm going this weekend for a few days. Hoping the ice holds well enough so I can walk on in front of the house. If nothing else, I have a brush pile on the ice from a December storm downed tree, I'd like to have an end of season bonfire. If I can't get rid of it, the shoreline is going to be a messwith floating brush come May
Thank you Eiderz you made this whole trip possible with your advice regarding walk on access!

I also picked up a new pop up, a new flasher, a new brushless drill, new 8" auger, a sled to pull it all, and various jigs and lures. All bought in the last two tears, The stuff is still brand new.
Got out 2 times last year not once the year. I really miss good ice when I had a hand auger and a 5 gallon bucket to carry everything but got out a lot more.
