I got that rod and it is a stiffer rod, so if you get a smaller fish biting (perch) it is harder to see the bite. That being said, it is nice to know you have the tougher rod when a monster walleye comes knocking.
Come on fish!

I use one for heavier baits, big spoons and ripping raps. Great rod!

I have one but I think it's overkill for walleye..and i fish Green Bay. An eater here is 20-24".. Lots of fish over 10# and netting operations have pulled a couple fish over 20 from the northern waters.
It will work yes but I feel there are more downsides.. A super stiff heavy rod is less forgiving when dealing with a big Walleye at the hole. It is less sensitive but you can still feel them inhaling a rap(barely) and lastly it takes away some of the fun out of the fight.. IMO it's just overkill.. That being said I have used the 30" medium Jason Mitchell rod and love it.. This year I'm trying out the fenwick Aetos 30 inch rod and it is some kind of sweet!

My buddy has one and we call it the broom stick. The thing is stout for sure at least for the size of fish that he catches ;D. He paired it with a bait caster and like 60 lb test. It is quite the sight to look over and the rod is barley bent and he is just cranking away like a warn winch. He mainly uses it for baits larger that 1/4 of an ounce and it seems to handle good sized jigs well.

Fine  for  Big Walleye  on  an  active  bite......waaaaay   too  stiff  of  rod  for  Walleye  that  are hitting  light.
