I have about a 100lbs of gear and pulls like 20-40lbs depending if its ice or snow. If go more than a couple hundred yards it gets tough to pull. I use a retractable dog leash(50ft) to pull my sled, nice to pull up hills as I can go to the top and ratchet it up to the top.
Keep the skis waxed!Tight lines.

this is the best picture I got right now, snow is packed in that picture cause everyone walks there but we went all the way to the other end of that lake and snow was about 4-5" deep ... Worked great
Why do things today that can be put off till tomorrow, or next week???? Let's go Ice-fishing!!!!

I've always wanted to mount skis on a plastic shopping cart..
I think it would be funny as all get out to put some skis on a wall world shopping cart...

Maybe a tree stand safty harness would work.

Yup.. If you or any of your friends hunt and have bought a tree stand or ladder stand they all come with those stupid factory harnesses... I must have 8 of them.   Just cut the straps that go around your legs and tie a 2ft piece of rope to the back with a craibener on the end..  That way you can reach it to attach to your sled rope...    ;D
Strangers stopping strangers just to shake there hand.

Learning how to wax skis and using that knowledge will make your smitty easier to move on the snow. $75 will buy an iron, wax, a scraper and buffing cork. In good conditions 15 pounds of pull will move a 200 pound sled. This can get you started.  http://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/glide-waxing-skis-snowboard.html
