Do you mean the true old balance beam "tip-up" as opposed to the modern type spool rigs. If yes so post, I'll see if my kids can put pics on site. Have a set of 15 long arm fold ups. Ingenious design, 30+ yrs old, best walleye rigs I've ever used.

I now have the pictures on the computer. If I can hold my temper long enough to learn to post through photobucket you'll have them. If not I'll no longer have a connection to Iceshanty! I knew we shouldn't have shot all those carrier pegions!

Here are a few pictures of my Champlain Jacks.

Made with scrap wood, coat hanger, egg sinker, replacement spool, finish nail, nuts and bolts, and a few strips of reflective tape.

These tipups were designed and refined in the '60s & 70's explicitally for walleye by Bruce Archambault {deceased}. They preform flawlessly. All of 3/4" maple, the stand is the most complex to build, it's 28" tall. The balance arm is 34" with a 9" wire extention. This gives 50" of draw, and nearly 0 resistance. They work so well you can tell the species of fish taking just by watching the arm! all measurements are criticall to overall performance. Anyone wanting to build a set post your questions on details, I'd be very happy to assist as a tribute to Bruce. Photos are aranged from bundled on sled to set up.

In my neck of the woods they call that style " tip-downs"...I have been going to make some...as I have seen that they are very effective. Not to mention that they're usually simple by design, light, and relatively inexpensive as far as materials go. Most of the ones I've seen were made from scrap with little if any purchased material. I have a friend that made a set from old broom handles and they work great! Especially for light biters...WK

I can't really call these homemade but they are heavily modified in my home.  If I had some real nice plans for tipups like these I would like to build some from scratch.

These started out as regular Heritage Laker's but have been converted to solid PVC, no warping, swelling etc.  The white did not show up well on the ice, so I added a colored top, the colors are my lobsterbuoy colors and show up very well.

I made them some time ago and last year changed out the flags for even more visibility and customness.

As you can tell I think way too much about icefishing and have too much free time in the winters.

Here are two others I converted but never even fished them last year.

Can create to me a separate theme? For example: Russian tip-ups.   At us in Russia them name ЖЕРЛИЦЫ (ZERLICI)
