Title: This weekend??!?

Finally seems like we have ice making weather!  I'm really getting sick of two days really cold followed by warm, rain, and even thunderstorms!  What do you think?  This weekend?  Maybe?  I'll probably be out scouting some farmponds Sat morning.  In any case the rods are about ready, new tent is put together, the tackle is organized, and the Vex is charged.  Maybe this weeked Maybe this weekend. . .

Got an Fl-18 ordered hopefully its here in time for the ice over extravaganza :o

     I know we're getting  anxious and all but this weekend ??  Right now my thermometer says 12 degrees so that is promising.  Be safe.

Be safe is correct.  One of my first purchases this fall was a nice spud bar from Eskimo.  I'll be glad to have it on early and late ice.

Friday Dec 2...First ICE....

Got out today on 2 3/4 inches.  Put a few tipups out and caught a nice largemouth.  Pictures tommmorow! ;D

I hit a local farm pond this afternoon really expecting only to check the ice thickness but I thought what the heck.  Threw the pole and Vex in the car as well.  Ice was questionable especially under the snow-only about 1" there.  The snow free areas and around the edges had 2.5-3".  Got to fish for about a half hour before dark and caught a 13" largemouth on a spoon.  Pretty good considering I had forgotten the bait to tip it with.  Unfortunately I forgot the camera.  Next weekend should be good!  (will try Sunday as well)
