Took the whole family out for the first time on New Year's Eve and I thought I would share some of the pics of the experience. This was my wife's and daughter's first time ever out ice fishing and they all had a blast. I must say that there were times when I was questioning my sanity taking a 3 year old and a 1.5 year old ice fishing, but in the end it all worked out great and we all had a great time. My wife caught her first 2 fish ever via hard water and my Lillian (3 years old) caught her first fish ever! Overall we were able to ice 12 rainbows. Only negative for the day was when my daughter felt the need to sacrifice my ice scoop to Poseidon but even then I couldn't get mad, she was just too cute. Overall I couldn't think of a better way to end the year!

Come to think of it.... I did the same thing to my ole' man...... at least once...maybe twice. I think you hit the nail on the head on it being some sort of right of passage. Going to have a whole ice crew before too long!

Your Daughter is in good company. My son many years ago did the same, still fishes with me.
What you do with your kids, is worth it, pays off big for them.

Great job getting the family involved!!! I took my daughter out last year for the first time. Fun fun fun. And she lost my scoop also, funny thing was we watched it sink on the fish finder. I chuckled, what can ya do!
