My wife missed a Big fish early in the day while i was at work. Got her exited tho so now she wants to land one. I got home and at dusk i looked out on the lake and saw a flag. So she got ready while i dressed the little one. And out on the lake we went. Now there was 2 flags. After all most a whole spool was brought back in. we get a glimpse. It was a nice big pike. And away it went she handled it like a pro. Got the head out and i slipped up grabbing it. With a flick it tossed the hook and went back in. Leaving me with a wet arm. Number 2 we walked over to it. No spinning top i thought crud just a lively shiner. But about 2 feet away the whole tip up jerked . I hollerd get it its spooled ! She worked it right back in. and this time i did it right. she landed a 6.5 lb 30 in northern. Her first ( that she can remeber) !!

The best part was our 2 yr old daughter saw mama do it ! Now were on the hunt for more.

THanks to all of you. No i did'nt make her clean it. I do the northerns. She helps when we get our limits of crappies tho. We only have 1-2 northres to clean at a time so i just do them. BTW thanks to this site ive learned how to clean them and keep all the Y bones out !

And ya its nice to be on the lake but action is VErrrrrrrry slowwwwwwww. Unless its day break or dusk. Faster action on the surrounding lakes.

Jealous isnt the word! i always dreamed about being able to watch for flags from the house and whenever i wanted! youre lucky man!

that's amazing...a wife who ice fishes, AND cleans fish and you live so close to the lake you can watch flags from your house?!? Envious doesn't even begin to describe....

She missed another Huge one today.

It was my fault. Last time i check the tipup we had a perch on it. I had the line on the ice and the Leader got tangled i thought the line just had a piece of ice on it. Turned out it was a knot. And ya that's where the line broke. so after a 10 run fight spooled the tipup and lost the fish to a simple flaw in the leader.

My leaders are now 12 lb test fluro carbon.

:tipup:Were goin out tomorrow in search of more pike. Hoping for the best.

Here's my bride! Pike not as big as your wife caught, but my better half got this on 2lb line jigging for gills! - the reel was screaming almost as loud as her!!

Well she got 3 more northrens. No pics of them tho. All in 28inch ish range. And i pulld a 12 lb 38 inch muskey out. Nothing more. No pics couldnt find the cammera.
