:) There are supposed to be trout (Rainbows) but I dont friggin know about that theory  ::). It's a very nice lake in the summer for camping/quading as there are extensive trails etc.

Its pretty flat where I live but I grew up in the mountains and have always loved them. I am headed for Alaska on a cruise this summer. Can't wait to see that scenery.

Well you do have an advantage. Most of our lakes are just starting to get good ice on them' so you should be way ahead in competition photos   ::) ;D

Not sure of their actual name. Some people call them suckerfish. They are a pain in the rear end and not @ all good to eat  >:(.

looks like a sucker to me. At least you are getting out and on the ice, catching fish , in my opinion is just a bonus. Not sure where you are but i know we would always set some tip-ups REAL tight to a rocky shoreline in shallow water and we did pretty good. Either way nice "squaw-fish" got to have some bait in the water to catch fish and if it happens to be a sucker so be it measure picture, bait back in the lake eventually a trout will come through and beat the suckers to your bait.

That was not the best lake (we were told so) ::) but it was close to home and the sun was out so away we went. As soon as we get good ice again I've had some excellent suggestions from board members as to a few killer lakes........ ;D Only a matter of time!

We call them fallfish down here & they make some awesome cut bait for river channel cats. They wouldn't be a pain for me!

::) We had no idea on the regs for the sucker/"squaw"/minnows-or whatever their geographical inhabitants call them ;).......but now that we DO- buggers are going to be hauled out by the dozen and used for bait >:D. They do put up a rather good fight and our team being rather new-ish to ice fishing- catching anything that moves is still fun! ;D.

Nothings hotter than a chick ice-fishing in a cummins jacket and yamaha pants!   :o  Nice catch!!  Sucker-head soup is a native american staple in MN.  Saw it on the food channel the other night.  Doesn't sound too tasty to me.
