lawn tractor
« on: Dec 13, 2016, 09:46 AM »
I am curious about using a riding lawn mower for ice fishing transportation.Snowmob iles and ATV's require registration/plates, and insurance. Pretty expensive for ice fishing.  How does a riding mower work in snow and on the ice? Do you need a plow/snowblower attachment? I assume that wheel weights and chains are a must..

Any comments, pictures, and advice is appreciated.

Thx ;D ;D

If conditions are correct it will work OK.
Will be slow if going any distance.
The problems will be when conditions are anything but good.
Rough or steep entry/exit places to the ice surface will cause problems.
Deep snow or slush will also cause big problems.
Here in Ontario conditions can make travel by an ATV next to impossible & a lawn tractor wouldn't even be close to the ATV in traction.
