Chequomegon Bay
« on: Oct 13, 2019, 04:15 PM »
I'm looking to ice fish Chequomegon Bay for the 1st time this year. I don't have a snowmobile, and no one in the group of 6 that will likely be going has a snowmobile. We do have 4 wheelers. Who is up there for guides that has a 6 man sleeper shanty with a plowed road to it. Or do guides have plowed roads that we could rent? The trip will be primarily for lake trout and burbot and towards the end of February. What kind of rods? I'm thinking at least medium rods, if not medium heavy.

Try Beyond the Catch guide service. Tommy Hicks.
He has sleepers and can put you on the fish.

The way conditions change up there with snow drifts and ice heaves not many sleeper shacks with plowed roads. I would stay at a motel. Lots of people walk out from Washburn. A daily setup with a insulated pop up is the way to go imo.

Chequamegon Bay is full of sleeper shacks, LOL. Even with the bad winter last year, they still regularly plowed roads out to the rentals. Several different options to choose from also...
