Title: Brand of fluorocarbon line for lake trout
Post by: Pheasanttail on Feb 19, 2019, 10:07 PM
I am considering giving fluorocarbon line a try on a baitcaster set up I use for lake trout.  I tried fluorocarbon in the past, but quit using it due to the memory of fluoro in the cold.  I now have the baitcaster setup, so I am thinking the memory may be less of an issue than with a spinning reel.  If anyone uses fluoro line in the 12-15lb range on a baitcaster reel, I would be interested in your experience of how  the line performed when fishing outside in temps down to -10 F.

I would go with sunline or seaguar.

Personally I would go with braid, not ice braid but some good coated/waxed braid.

sunline xplasma aesegai is the best I have used that does not absorb water and is slick, another is Fireline Ultra 8
