Looked at the forcast this am and they"re calling for temps in the 20's and 30's thru the weekend in WNY. What are the odds of getting back on the ice? It's snowing out right now!
Weird winter!

I think you might be able to squeeze out 1 more weekend, especially in the Adirondacks and points north.

He said WNY, and I wouldn't get your hopes up.
The ice here is FOF, in kinder words non-existant.
-
I would say the chance would be less then 5 % maybe if your lucky but you need to think about a week of good cold for it to refreeze
-
Problem now is the Sun is starting to get pretty intense and even when it is moderately cold, the ice is still being damaged by the strong rays. Unless you go up in elevation where the ice was thicker (greater than 12"), you'll more than likely find no safe till December.

Might get one last chance here this weekend at darago.

No chance and it snot worth killing your self to get back on the ice for one time. Started fishin from the boat over the weekend for the perch, did pretty well. My ice gear is packed away until next year and lets hope we get a better year.

I was planning to go this weekend reguardless of the cold snap. till had a foot of ice at the lake where I was on Sunday. Will take the nessesary precautions, I'm not stupid, but I think we still have good ice up here.Depends on where you are living.
