When you can fish on ice one weekend, and be casting to open water the next, you know it has been a semi strange year for ice (at least for us on the shoreline). We got maybe 2 weeks of safe ice around here, but only had to travel 30 mins to an hour north with the some longer trips sprinkled in so all in all it was a pretty good year. But when I can start casting for largemouth ice time is over for me.
