Lake Winnipeg

I was curious if any of you ND folks ever hit Lake Winnipeg, given your proximity to CA? Any tips for going up there for the first time? Hoping to go in Jan 18. We have fished devils lake in open water and loved it BTW, no boat anymore though.

I think people come from all over to fish Winnipeg. I know that a lot of people go from here and I think some from Fargo/grand forks go multiple times a year. I hear the fishing isn't quite as good as a few years ago but still a good bet to get a big one.
