help Colorado fishermen
« on: Dec 12, 2009, 09:17 PM »
today I went to 11 mile and had a real good day. Started out with a few rainbows then caught a nice 19" brown, I got a  few pictures and put him on the stinger well when I got home and went to clean him I noticed he had a DOW tag in his back. So the question I have is what am I supposed to do with the tag? Am I suppose to turn it into the DOW and give them the info about where and when ect. ect. Or throw it away and don't worry about it. I have the fishing regs book but it doesn't say anything about it.  Thanks in advance guys.

I would let them know, I'm sure it would be useful info for whatever reason it was tagged. How's the ice at the mile? and what did you catch 'em on if you don't mind sharing...

11" ice thickness, pink and white tube jig tipped with a mealworm and dipped in some corn scent. I was at Cross Creek.

Let the DOW know about your fish and the tag.  I'm not sure, but I'm betting they would be interested.
I found a Ptargmigan that was road-killed on Trail Ridge Rd. in RMNP one time and the DOW really appreciated all the info and picked up the bird from me.

Tell them you might even be able to get the history on the fish
