I was fishing lake alice in wisconsin my first time there & I also have a muskie rod from bass-pro & big muskie bucktails & I got so tierd of casting my arm was feeling like it was gunna come off LOL
so I took charge of it to help my arm feel better useing my ugly-stick & 17 # test stren line & got a used 2 speed bait caster by penn. & I grabbed my lure it was a mepps #5 gold blade without a tail =45/1/2 pure muskie
its on my wall now
but had to throw my 2 speed bass real in the lake because the gears were stripped beond repair

oh well it did its thing
ps I was on the lake & there was A guy I talked to & it was my last day there & he was going to take me muskie fishing I think maybe he was a guide or something like that ~:+)))) all he said to my mum & I Steve sorry I cant help you I only get 30 inchers or less

or the visiting BubbleHead!

At least with the visiting Bubblehead, you'll have stories to tell for years to come. The drawback is you may have to replenish some of your fishing gear or have counseling from a psychiatrist over anger management!

I guess worse case is getting visited by both! LOL

Well its all comming together now the monkey and Bubblehead are working together. possably related to each other. Maybe the monkey will push bubblehead off his holes for a change Or bubblehead might slip on one of monkeys bannana peels.

Hey for the last couple of weekends the Skunked Monkey has been my steady companion on the ice til yesterday. One thing though, when the monkey is on the ice get to sharpen up on my cribbage and grilling skills in the tent.

the neighbour that has never fished and he ends up catching everything with his 45 cent pickerel rig and your thousand dollar tackle box is nothing but a great chair for the day. Oh yeah fellow brothers oh yeah that really fishes me off!!!!

What I'd like to know is how that monkey makes himself invisible? I didn't see him last Saturday night...but he was surely sitting in my fish trap laughing at me. I was fishing with a group of friends....jigging my tail off for six hours using 5 different rods with alllll kinds of lure/jig and bait combos... Caught absolutely nothing, nada, zip! There were times that vex was lit up like a Christmas tree...you'd a thought I couldn't help but snag one of those crappies. The irony is that the fellow in the shanty next to me, about 10 feet away hit 9 crappies between 9"- 12" in about a 30 minute time span.

I'm going to try again tomorrow...hope that monkey stays away. Does anyone know an anti-monkey dance?

I often go ice fishing with a few guys from the town I grew up in. The last few times out, they had gotten skunked. The one guy had his wife pick up a stuffed monkey for him and he hid it in his sled. He was going to pull it out and fling it off his back after he caught his first fish. He was out checking a flag and I went to look in his sled to find some pictures I had given him that morning. When the other friend and I saw that Monkey in his sled, we nearly wet ourselves from laughing so hard. I told him I had to post that on IceShanty because it was so funny. I believe he'll continue to bring it now so we can throw the skunked monkey off our backs after our first fishes are caught. We don't play practical jokes on each other, but we enjoy making each other laugh!

I think Bean's avatar is doing the "Anti-Monkey" dance. Last night I slayed the crappies on Bang's lake. It sure felt good to get that tug on the line....Whew...glad that dry spell is over. I called my wife and told her the Skunk Monkey had left the trap...

she didn't have a clue what I was talking about.
