fillet it up, bag it up right there on the spot, throw the guts in the woodstove.  why waste a perfectly good fish

give it a rocket ride back down the hole, a big laker or pike will eat it if it finds it. crayfish and others also take care of that sort of thing. what do you think happens to fish that die naturally?
