Wow!.... 1 day and 5 species of Trout Caught!!

Finally had a chance to take a  break from guideing and take out 2 good friends on a ice fishing trip. Decided to head up into the Haliburton's to try for Specs then see how things go from there. Took the Argo back in along some Hydro line trails and got setup .... georgeous day and nobody around . Spent approx. 4 hrs fishing and landed 4 Brook Trout and lost 2 others with all the action in 4-10'. Decided to hit another lake I know of along the power line that has Rainbows and Splake. We got setup and instantly I nailed a Splake and within 15 min. my buddy catches a nice chunky Rainbow ....WhooHoo!.... fished for another 1.5hrs and nothing. I suggested we trailer the Argo and drive to a different lake I have never fished but heard it has some 'Grey' or 'Silver Trout' and since non of us have never caught one we thought lets give it a try. Unreal high country surrounded the lake with only a couple of cottages on it. While we were driving across the lake on the Argo we saw 6 Deer along the shore that was a awesome sight and just added to a already great day. We ended up drilling holes in a couple of different places and the 1st fish we got was the prized 'Silver Trout'.... these fish have dark red/pink flesh and no markings other then just a extremely smooth Grey/Silver skin and are long in the body. We also ended up catching a native 5lb Laker and another 'Grey' before we called in quits for the day. We had a amazing day fishing 3 different lakes and catching 5 different species of Trout today.... Brookies, Splake, Rainbow, Lake Trout and Silver or Grey Trout. Here is a pic of the fish layed out on the ice.... the 1st one on the left is a 'Grey' and the bottom one is a Splake.... you will likely recognize the others.

That's like the grand slam of trout fishing!  I remember one day I got a lm & sm bass, perch, sunnie, crap, eye, pike, and a muskie on the same lure in the same day.  Congrats on the beautiful fish!

Way to go, that is defiantly a grand slam trout trip, those days are very few and far between.


What group is the grey trout belong to? Is it a variation of a rainbow, brookie or brown trout?

Whatever group it belongs to it is neat looking.
