What’s your preferred pike bait?

I always liked live suckers about 6" long. But they are getting expensive $8.50 a dozen and sometimes they are not even 6". Don't get me started on live bait cost, plus they are counting them one at a time, lucky if you get 13 in a dozen. What they call northern suckers we use for walleye, what they call walleye suckers you can use for crappie and perch. Live minnow bait prices have sky rocketed.

$8.50 a dozen is cheap nowadays up here in Maine. Suckers are anywhere from $10-12 a dozen.

I paid 11.00 a dozen for large” shiners, which weren’t that large. Talk about supply and demand...

Just based this on how many pike I’ve seen w/ slightly smaller pike in their mouths, throats, and belly’s.
