I don't know anyone personally, but typically people make bait balls for catfish.

For the most part, a lot of us stick to powerbait, crawlers, salmon eggs, shiners, and smelt.

Personally, salmon eggs for rainbows and shiners/smelt for browns and brookies.  I have yet to catch a brookie through the ice yet but have heard they behave similar to browns in the winter.  Rainbows are almost always shallow over sand and love their salmon eggs.

I've never heard of making your own dough bait. I would venture to say it's feasable. I'm sure that Paula Dean has a recipe for that!

"Ok....What you need is 5 sticks of butter. Now, add in you're melted butter. Next....slowly mix in you're drawn butter that we made earlier. Add one pinch of Old Bay Seasoning and MMM MMM MMM Sugar, you got yourself some homemade fish bait! Tune in next week because we're gonna be makin' some pan-fried smelt with a nice butter sauce!"

My better half works at a school. She's always making this type of playdough that's won't hurt the kids if they happen to ingest it. I betcha you could go to a pet store and buy some fish food pellets and crush them up to make a paste and encorporte that into a homemade playdough. You may have to fiddle with the recipe, a bit....but it's a start. Fish food is made up of the by-products of fish carcasses used in many different applications. Fish food companies will by the remains from say....Vandy Camps Fish Sticks. They will take the remains and grind them up into a paste. They will then form it and dry it into the desired pellets.

My point is....it's made of fish....fish eat other fish. Sounds like it could have potential for the basis of a homemade bait. Either that or you could keep all your dead minnows, dehydrate them and go from there.

I gotta run....Gotta go call my lawyer to have him starting working on a patent for me!

Loved his wine!   Just found his BBQ sauce  mmmmmmm good sounding   gonna try it!

Comforting Barbecue Sauce

4 cups chopped onion
 1 cup chopped celery

1 cup chopped bell pepper
 1 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 cup peanut cooking oil
 2 tbs chopped garlic

3 cups Justin Wilson Steak Sauce
˝ cup Justin Wilson Pepper Sauce or 2 tsp ground cayenne pepper

3 cups ketchup
3 tsp salt or to taste

1 cup Southern Comfort liquor

In a large skillet, sauté onions, celery, bell pepper and parsley in peanut oil until onions are clear or tender. Add garlic and cook a little longer. Add steak sauce, Pepper Sauce and ketchup. Salt to taste. Add Southern Comfort. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and cover. Cook for 2 to 3 hours. This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks. Makes 3 quarts to 1 gallon.

This in not a drink, no. It’s to use as a bubba-que sauce, but it also , too, is mighty fine for soppin’.

This is one of all time favorites. It's super simple...and it definitely a crowd pleaser!

Step 1: Get off couch
Step 2: Walk to closet
Step 3: Open closet
Step 4: Pick up bag of pretzels
Step 5: Open bag of pretzels by pulling the top of the back apart from each other. (Caution; too much force
may result on ripping the bag and pretzels falling on the floor. If this happens, resort to 10 second rule)
Step 6: Once bag is open safely, enjoy pretzels with a beverage like beer or a pop.

It's as easy as that! Enjoy fellas. Let me know how yours turn out!
